Cool, creamy and wonderfully refreshing
Cool off this summer with a wonderfully creamy Black tea ice cream float.
Rich black iced tea tea with a large scoop of soft ice cream. Ready in 5 minutes!
method
- Add 1 tea bag to a glass and fill 1/2 with hot water
- Sweeten to taste, 2 tea spoons of sugar for full sweetness
- Brew for 4-5 minutes
Leave your ice cream out to soften a little while your tea is brewing
Fill your glass with ice and stir to cool
Add a generous scoop of ice cream to the top of your iced tea and enjoy!
tips:
- We’ve made this version with our Sun Moon Lake black tea but you can also use our Red Jade tea bag, Afternoon Royal, Roasted Oolong or Apple Rooibos tea bags.
- You can also use our green tea (Jasmine or Rose Green) but you need a strong brew to balance the ice cream, otherwise fruit sorbet tastes great!
- Mackie’s ice cream is light and fluffy, but any ice cream will work just as well. Salted caramel, honeycomb balance well with black and Oolong teas
