Mango Matcha v1

A bright tropical pairing of sweet mango and smooth green tea

We always wanted a mango drink inspired by the vibrant flavours of Taiwan and Thailand. Because fresh mango can vary in sweetness in the UK, this version uses tinned slices for consistency. Sweet mango balances the gentle bitterness of matcha, creating a bright and tropical combination.

method

Prepare the Drink (400–500ml glass)

  1. Drain the syrup from a tin of mango slices.
  2. Blend the mango until completely smooth.
  3. Dissolve 1 sachet of Matcha powder in 50–70ml warm water and whisk until smooth.
  4. Add ice and a layer of mango puree to a glass.
  5. Fill almost to the top with milk.
  6. Pour in the matcha mixture, stir gently and serve.

tips:

• The mango, its syrup and the matcha powder usually provide enough sweetness. Taste before adding more sugar.
• Oat or coconut milk work especially well for a tropical finish.
• Tapioca pearls can be added, keeping their sweetness in mind.
